Since the departure of the previous supervisor, I have been fielding needs and complaints from other technicians in the CBOC via group teams chats and connecting with the right points of contacts to get what they are in need of.
In my nearly 25 years service to the VA I have experienced working with a variety of other employees as we have had more than 15 technicians pass through over the years that I helped train. Optometry has students rotate every 3mos and residents who change out every year and have also helped train them on how to work best with technicians, how to best communicate what kind of images they need through work orders in CPRS.
I have been the longest I have a deep relationship with the Senior doctors who come to me for opinions on any technician issues, though conflict amongst us is rare
As most senior technician I have assisted in the onboarding and training for 15+ technicians teaching them CPRS skills, how to work up patient for the doctor and along with opthalmic imager trained and supervised their us of ancillary testing visual fields for the trainee I am currently training, I also assist in administrating the skills assessment.
