I participate in community leagues and competitions in both volleyball and powerlifting, which gives me the opportunity for various community outreach programs and volunteer involvement. For nearly 30 years, I have acted as our church congregational and choir pianist, a volunteer position that requires weekly rehearsals and consistency. In my free time, I also enjoy helping out on my family's farm with feeding animals, maintaining property, and operating farm equipment.
While not included in my employment history, I have also worked as a patient transporter for The Meadows Hospital based in Centre Hall, PA. This job required flexibility, effective communication. ability to work independently, and excellent people skills. I also was a grounds manager for an 80-acre nursery where I managed a small team, saw that the property was maintained, organized weekly schedules, implemented safety protocols, and reported directly to the business owner. Past work history also includes being an animal trainer at Sight & Sound Theaters in Strasburg, PA. This position required the highest level of attention to detail in regards to animal health, training procedures, and safety protocols. I was asked by the department manager to formulate a training manual for all new hires coming into the animal husbandry program. As an animal trainer, I worked independently as well as with team of animal handlers to help prepare a variety of animals for show productions. Lastly, my employment history also includes serving as an educator, where I gained experience in a variety of areas: lesson/curriculum planning, problem resolution, effective communication, attention to detail, and general adaptability.
