Volunteering

House of Home, Wichita Falls, TX.  Duties: float charge nurse for all four dedicated pods specially designed to provide continuum care for the progressive nature of the Alzheimer’s journey. Received specialized training to work exclusively with the Alzheimer’s community. Second shift, charge nurse to an assigned pod, pass medications, wound care, monitored blood pressures, and administered scheduled insulin. Dining room nurse monitor. Manager of two C.N.A. per unit.  

Hospice of Wichita Falls,  I volunteered twice at the local health fairs, did manual blood pressure, and finger pricks to check blood sugars and education on diabetes and CHF. On weekends, participated in the Alzheimer’s local marathons.    Local Halloween safety, for the trunk or treat.
