Accomplishments

  • Served on Accreditation Committee working towards certification for St. Matthew.
  • Member of the school's Frassati committee which is a social and emotional program created to align with the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. We designed lessons for weekly "morning meetings" and designed programs for parents, as well as students.
  • Served on Strategic Planning Committee and was also a part of the Planning and Implementation Process.
  • Chair of Strategic Planning Implementation committee for Personnel/Staffing/Professional Growth. The purpose of the Personnel and Staffing/Professional Growth Planning Area was to determine ways to attract and retain educators and staff that are committed to collaborating, continuing and fostering growth, and service in an inclusive environment. My committee created and conducted a survey of the faculty and staff to better understand opportunities to provide extrinsic benefits and improve the overall sense of value to faculty and staff. We then created recommendations that were intended to support the administration in aligning more closely with the needs and expectations of educators, with an ultimate goal of improving staff retention and creating a more attractive environment for prospective employees.
  • Certified PTS Coaching ADHD Teacher Trainer - This was important to me to learn more because most teacher preparation programs provide little to no education on ADHD and Executive Function challenges. At the same time, increasing behavioral demands in the classroom are leading to high teacher burnout and turnover. I feel it is important for educators to receive better training and information so they can create more effective and supportive learning environments.
  • Served on teacher hiring committee, contributing to candidate interviews and selection.
