  • At Grunt Style, I folded a lot of clothing, worked in the back when asked, and spent a lot of time interacting with customers.
  • There, many of the shoppers enjoyed organic conversation and being friendly with staff and one another.
  • Both were standard retail positions.
  • 2023: I maintained both of these jobs and worked at a luxury camp ground this year.
  • The camp ground did not last long due to being high volume during the summer and slowing down drastically over winter, they did layoffs and I could not commit to having an open schedule all summer.
  • I did however, enjoy Campendium, the PMS they used.
  • 2024: After leaving the national park, I took a job at a local family owned business.
  • Bear Valley was retail with minimal hospitality duties in a rural setting.
  • I had to clean, receive and stock merchandise, interact with customers, and occasionally answer phones to take/modify a reservation, or check someone into their camp site.
  • I met a lot of very kind people here.
  • Despite the job not paying much, I will always treasure this place and the family who owns it.

  • It also required making sure all items were in their assigned locations, putting away new items received in shipments, creating displays, and the shift I was placed on was magnificent.
  • A coworker became ill with COVID.
  • Shortly after that, I fell ill.
  • My probationary period was not over.
  • Due to having to stay isolated for two weeks I was not able to return.
  • The few weeks between working at Wal-Mart and beginning work at the hotel I worked with a contractor renovating homes and helping with repairs.
  • The second time I worked for Wal-Mart I believe was in 2021.
  • This time, I was placed in apparel.
  • Due to having to maintain an open schedule to keep this job, I left and found work elsewhere.
  • The third time I worked for Walmart was at a distribution center.
  • I was hired through a third party as a temp to create and fill displays.
  • This was in 2024.

  • It does not smell pleasant.

  • Some of the assignments I worked were tower/control, walk, yard/tower, dietary, seg, infirmary, guard shack, writ, movement, visitors/switchboard.

  • Searched cells of inmates to identify and confiscate contraband and other prohibited items.

  • By winter of that year, I transferred to another facility and worked in a freezer which is where I spent the majority of my time with this company.
  • 2014: This year I worked as an inventory control specialist.
  • I enjoyed this position.
  • I drove through the warehouse on a Yale picking machine and a Raymond cherry picker wearing a harness counting parcels on pallets.
  • We were also responsible for insuring items were in the correct slots and placed in their spaces evenly.
  • We used Red Prairie and an RF at that time.
  • Later that same year, it was suggested I apply for the sanitation lead role and so I did.
  • I was chosen for this job.
  • 2015: In 2015 I was still sanitation lead.
  • I was responsible for a crew of nearly twenty people some days and less than five others.
  • I checked, labeled, and monitored chemicals.
  • Completed, submitted, and filed paperwork.
  • Interviewed, hired, and trained employees.
  • Organized the closets, kept tidy work spaces.
  • Was trained on narrow aisle, scissor lift, boom truck, and various loading/receiving machines.
  • Later this year, I began college and was offered a position in aisle quality.
  • 2016: I continued work aisle quality until I left.
  • This job was simple.
  • I walked or drove through the aisles picking up cases that had fallen, returning them to the pallets they belong on, and removing damaged items.
  • Damage was then thoroughly documented and reported.
