Through my job as a lifeguard during my time in high school, I learned how to handle stressful situations and I know how to handle a variety of situations. Whether the situation is first aid related, conflicts with members, or staff-related conflicts I learned the skills to carefully handle them and ensure everyone is heard and everyone has a chance to say their piece and give their side of the story.
I am currently an athlete on the track team at South Dakota State University, being an athlete has taught me how to manage my time to ensure success in school and sports. It also taught me how to learn from failure and how to take the hits and role with them. One more thing that being a college athlete has taught me is teamwork and how to be there and make sacrifices to ensure the team succeeds.
