I consider myself as a dedicated rope access level 2 individual with more than 10 years in the Offshore Diamond Mining industry and more than 8 years in the oil and gas industry, working hands on with Subsea department, starting with De Beers Marine completed a successful 10-year career in the process plant, maintenance department, engine room. With more than 5 years working on the downstream, inspecting drilling tools and Marine risers, performing NDT inspection, repairs, sand blasting any Field services relating to repairs and preserve on the downstream. Disassembling/Assembling and inspecting of service (BOP) blow out preventers and telescoping joints. Diverters disassemble for Inspection and Reassemble. Choke and kill Manufault valves ect. Currently in the process of obtaining Welding Trade. NDT Inspection - Repairs - Process plant - Engine room - Welding Sand Blasting - Offshore - Maintenance - Downstream. My career objective is to contribute to the vibrancy of a company and therefore to further develop myself and those around me through hard work and my experience. I started my Offshore career in 2004 August at De Beers Marine as a plant hand , working in the diamond process plant ,assisting process operators and process controllers with various of tasks regarding plant maintenance by replacing burst pipes, Warman pump breakdowns, working hand in hand with the plant fitters, plant mechanic’s ,electricians ,technicians, welders the maintenance department to ensure the plant stays up and running and free from any down time and breakdowns up until 2007 , where we were transferred over to DeBeers Namibia where I had the opportunity and privilege to moved over to the maintenance department where I obtained the opportunity and interest in welding and exposure within the repair and maintenance side. I then was prompted to the engine room in 2010 because of my overtime and volunteering roles within the engine room to work as an engine room rating ( entry level /wiper ) because of all the experience and exposure, assisting on duty Engineer’s with emergencies procedures, servicing purifiers, bulge pumps ,seawater pumps ,seawater strainers, replacement of engine pistons and valves ,replacing electric motors within the engine room to name a few , sadly in 2015 my career was ended after a long run with the company because of retrenchment to make way for the Namibians . That’s where I made a career change and moved over or atleast try to get into the Oil and Gas industry .
