Postpartum

Cared for mothers and their newborns following vaginal and cesarean section deliveries. Cared for neonates 35 weeks and greater in NICU. Trained and mentored new RN's.

Maternal care: assessing and managing pain, assessing for, preventing and managing hemorrhages and infections; administering blood transfusions; managing PIH including care for patients on magnesium sulfate infusions; c/section incision care; managing medication and IV's; providing breastfeeding teaching and support; assessing for signs and symptoms of postpartum depression.

Post-Surgical GYN patient care: assessments, medications, IV fluids and pain management including PCA management and lab monitoring.

Newborn care: performing newborn assessment, monitoring closely for signs and symptoms of sepsis, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia and intervening accordingly; assessing and managing hyperbilirubinemia, performing car seat challenge procedures per protocol.

NICU baby care: feeder and growers, infants > 35 weeks, performed assessments; oral/ng feeds via gravity and/or pumps; administering oral medications and performing NAS scoring.

Pediatric Oncology ICU

Administering medications and chemotherapy to patients as well as monitored responses. Collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care. Educated patients and family members regarding specific oncology treatments.
