Project Overview: ACR is one of the designated accreditation organizations by CMS, according to MIPPA (2008). Accreditation in Radiology is a voluntary program in which trained external peer reviewers evaluate a healthcare organization's compliance and compare it with pre-established performance standards. This study aimed to assess the impact of accreditation programs on the quality of healthcare services. ACRedit is an easy-to-use web application developed to help facilities in the USA apply for accreditation smoothly and intuitively. This web accreditation system allows facilities to register their modalities, supply required documents and images online, and update or track their applications.
ACRedit offers accreditation programs in CT, MRI, breast MRI, SBBAP, BUAP, nuclear medicine, and PET, as mandated under the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA), and for modalities mandated under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
The National Radiology Data Registry is a data warehouse for the registries listed below. The primary purpose of NRDR is to aid facilities with their quality improvement programs and efforts to improve patient care by comparing facility data to that of their region and the nation. A practice or facility may choose to participate in any or all registries as appropriate. When a facility joins more than one registry, the warehouse allows information to be shared across registries.
