  • Managed Enterprise Reporting Shared Infrastructure (MERSI) is a Data warehouse system intended to build business data warehouses for WAMU
  • The purpose of this initiative is to implement a shared services approach to DW and BI applications
  • Washington Mutual conducts business through Retail Banking & Financial Services, Home Loans, Commercial Banking, and
  • Card Services
  • The Scope of the project includes the migration activities which upgrades the reporting tools to the upper end version (migrating BO5.x reports to BO XI reports)
  • The project includes various phases of development and maintenance such as requirement analysis, design, test, defect resolution, implement, maintain and enhance the system
  • EURC, an in-house tool is used to set up the infrastructure of the system, Business Object XI R2 is used as the reporting solution for Invoice flow and process, Quality center would be used in defect management and
  • ECMS, an in-house tool would be used for the change management
  • Responsibilities
  • Involved in migration of universes from BO 5.x to BO Xi R2 and also did unit testing for those stuffs accordingly
  • Used Import wizard to import most objects in the universe repository
  • Cross-verified Joins and cardinalities whether it’s been properly amended to the new structure of the universe (in higher version) after migration
  • Migrated the reports one by one manually by opening the lower version report xml into the higher version report window, saving and validating the report
  • Re-built few reports as the migration has not worked out properly on all functioning across versions
  • Did some enhancement in the BO reports like addition of Charts and implementing Drill filters in the report as requested by users
  • Involved in defect fixing as well, as some of the functions are not working properly in higher versions as in lower versions
  • Involved in supporting other regions like QA too until the migration task turns live in production.
