Fundamentals of Nursing clinical rotation (93 hrs.)

• Carried out basic principles of nursing, including the nursing process, patient assessment, communication between nurse and patient, cultural differences, functional health patterns, and the overall framework of nursing practice.

• Point of contact for all incoming referrals and inquiries; Initial screening to determine if patient meets SNF criteria for admission. (IV antibiotics, PT/OT/ST, wound care)
• Work closely with DON, RN supervisors, and CNAs for bed placements, ensuring correct bed assignments. (COVID and other isolations)
• Schedule appointments with incoming patients and families to tour the facility, introduce them to staff, and provide information regarding activity and rehabilitation programs.
