Reporting to the therapist on how well the patient is doing was a huge part of my job function.
As an administrative assistant, I represented the company by answering the phone in a kind manner, transferring phone calls when needed and assisting the patient on the phone to resolve any issues, schedule appointments and make payments.
Another part of my job function, is calling on insurance benefits to ensure our patients were getting their full benefits.
Billing insurance, using an electronic computer payment system, taking cash and cards for payment was also an essential job duty.
To keep the office organized, I also filed paperwork, organized patient files, scanned in documents and shredded documents with patient information to ensure HIPAA laws were being followed properly.
