I have been majoring in Psychology for my Associates degree at Kirtland College. This is my last semester for my associates. I will then have a transfer degree to Central Michigan University in the Bachelors psychology program. I am enrolled in college and studying to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I am a critical thinker who thrives under pressure. I am also organized and energetic with 3 plus years working with others in recovery.
I would like to assist clients with symptom management and recovery by modeling wellness, personal responsibility, self-advocacy, and hopefulness through the sharing of his or her story.
Seeking to help other providers to better understand and empathize with each client's unique experience and perceptions.
Also provide guidance and encouragement to clients to actively participate in their own recovery.
Teach clients self-advocacy skills and promote personal growth and development with mental health issues.
Assist, teach, and support clients regarding activities of daily living, vocational skills, housing access, maintaining financial supports, and building support networks.
I would like to organize and lead individual and group social and recreational activities and provide other opportunities to practice social skills.
I have experience with linking clients to other external sources of help when needed.
As a person who is in recovery, I am very understanding to the daily struggles, very compassionate,caring, and have been sober and actively working in recovery services/psychology since September 2020.
I also have superior time management and interpersonal skills.
