My name is Kristen Swanson, I am a 35-year-old mother of 3 girls ages 3,8,9. My family Just  moved to the Dawsonville area in September of 2023 from Southern California. We packed  everything and headed east for a fresh start in life and to give our daughters a better up bringing.  Two of my daughters will be returning to Kilough Elementary this August for their 4 th grade  year. I have taken early childhood education classes in the past when my original dream of  nursing no longer fit my growing family. But since arriving in Georgia and seeing just how  amazing the schools are out here compared to California it really sparked my interest to work in  the schools. I have been a stay-at-home mom/wife for over 10 years, and its time for me to get  back in the work force, and the school district is where I feel the passion to start. I am applying for entry level positions with the plan of continuing my schooling to become a paraprofessional then an elementary school teacher in the near future. Having the luxury of being a stay-at-home mom for so long I believe has helped me obtain a lot of the same skills I would use working for the school district, (patience, understanding, teaching  skills and manors, organization, schedule planning, accountability, discipline etc.). As well as the  numerous early childhood development courses I have completed. I understand that my  application is a little thin due to me being out of the work force for so long, but I know I am  ready to jump right back in and work hard, be reliable, and be an asset to the Dawson County  School district. I would appreciate the chance to be a possible candidate for the open positions so  I can prove my worthiness and love for working with children.
