  • Provide support to ensure compliance with federal, local and state safety and health regulations to 331 District 5 staff which covers a large territory with 23 maintenance patrols, 5 project offices and the District 5 campus.
  • Supervise two employees, complete evaluations, provide direction and training for them to grow within their career.
  • Managed District 5 access control and security system, overseeing employee access badges, security cameras, and alarms across 23 patrols and 2 project offices. Monitored camera feeds, scheduled maintenance, assigned access badges and alarm codes for new hires, and deactivated access upon termination, tracked efficiently using Excel.
  • Managed the Emergency Evacuation Plan and Fire Alarm System. Updated emergency contact numbers and communicated the plan to District Office personnel. Scheduled annual inspection visits with the fire alarm system vendor and retrieved quotes for services.

  • Respond to public concerns / complaints which can include a variety of requests to file a claim for damages to vehicle/self, concerns regarding traffic control in roadwork zones, hazards on the roadway, or driving of DOT personnel.
  • Identify accident causes or near miss experiences and provide prevention strategies by conducting investigations usually using a Job Hazard Analysis report.
  • Conduct new-hire employee orientations which consist of health and safety resources, covering administrative directives regarding safety, PPE, bloodborne pathogens and workplace violence.
  • Work closely with General Services Division/Risk Management claims adjusters regarding property and casualty internal claims and TORT claims submitted by the general public by producing requested documents and record keeping.
  • BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) Reporting Exposure hours. This is completed online when BLS sends requests for such information.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and ensure Safety documentation is provided by the contractor.
  • Investigated incidents and compiled Risk Management reports for Executive Staff and HR, highlighting key findings and recommendations for safety enhancements.
