-Oversees and is the Team Leader of Intake, Garage, and Welcome area.
-Assigns beds to Intake, Garage, and Welcome patients, keeping the flow of the ED moving according to ESI level of the patients.
-Intakes, vitals, and assigns ESI level to patients when needed to help with surges within the ED.
-Resource for RN's in leveling walk in trauma patients.
-Precepts new RN's to the intake role. Provides them with policies and RN procedures for common patient complaints.
-Assist staff as needed in the pod with patient care tasks.
-Having global awareness of all patients in patient care pod to facilitate continuous flow of patient care as primary care RN responds to medical or trauma resuscitations.
-Acting as a resource nurse in codes, sedations, and patient care activities.
-Assisting new RN's to effectively communicate with residents and consultants to provide excellent and timely care to our patients.
-Providing continuity of care throughout the initial phase of care until admission, discharge, or transfer.
