I completed a six-month fellowship in the HCA PEAK Fellowship program. I heard from a multitude of clinicians from HCA, such as CEOs, Case Management, Human Resources, and Clinical Informatics. I volunteered for the Round Rock community and learned about the assistance that is needed in the community, and the assistance that is available for those in need. I spent time with the Acute Inpatient Rehab Case Manager on the unit, and learned what is needed from our patients at their most vulnerable state. I completed online courses to educate myself on the role of the case manager. I worked with a team of six individuals on a project to improve the care that the patient population receives in a St. David's Emergency Department; it was an eye-opening experience that gave me more respect for our community.
