  • Provide crisis services for the Santa Clara County community within a Co-response model and Co-respond to 911 calls for service with the highest acuity of need with a dedicated law enforcement officer for immediate service involving an individual experiencing a behavioral health crisis; act as subject matter expert to provide consultation to patrol and administrative law enforcement staff; divert individuals from unnecessary hospitalizations, incarcerations, and further contact with law enforcement.
  • Evaluate and assess for 5150 Criteria and provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, safety planning, Identification of coping strategies, Stabilization Services; facilitate admission to appropriate level of care for individuals with acute psychiatric conditions.
  • Provide post-crisis follow-up and grief and loss support/referrals with individuals and families, referral and resource linkage and coordination of care services
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner, including mandated reporting: suspected child Abuse, suspected elder/dependent adult abuse (CPS/APS/Tarasoff) as required by law.
  • Report accidents and/or injuries according to County’s reporting policies; Collection and provision of monthly crisis call data.
