- 75% effort was in-country leading a team of Haitian professionals to support the agencies Haiti health programs. This work included business development (finding funding), program management with operations research, monitoring and evaluation, trainings and strong partnerships.
- The agencies health programs in Haiti were focused on the effects of a 2009 earthquake that resulted in health facilities rebuilding infrastructure and sanitation. Along with local staff, we developed and carried out simulation exercises to respond quickly to cholera outbreaks at 9 at-risk rural clinics. I secured funding and then pulled in Johns Hopkins School of Public Health Disaster Response to review our desk top simulation training and they then published an article on the results. I Developed a program with the ministry of child welfare to locate and link services across the country on services for orphan and vulnerable children. We partnered with a technology firm and paid for a position within the government to run the website so that services could be consolidated and provided to a child in need. I oversaw the partnerships of private US healthcare system partners who donated supplies to Catholic healthcare facilities in Haiti.
- 25% effort was with headquarters to provide technical assistance for health systems strengthening programs in other countries to include Honduras, Guyana and Zambia. Honduras was focused on a proposal development within the agency to strengthen community health workers outreach from Catholic clinics. In Guyana, I provided a leadership workshop for a hospice to set up 5 year plan as well provide on going technical assistance for the monitoring and evaluation of the clinics work In Zambia, I oversaw partnerships between Notre Dame University, a US health system and a local partner to set up a healthcare leadership curriculum for students.
