• Room and prepare patients to see providers including obtaining vital signs, performing medication reconciliation

Cardiac Admission Recovery Unit (CARU)

• Perform same day surgical admissions and post anesthesia duties for all cardiac catheterizations, MRI and electrophysiology patients
• Perform critically focused assessments and evaluations of patients pre and post cardiac catheterization procedures utilizing general anesthesia
• Perform cardiac monitoring, medication reconciliation, medication administration, venipuncture, lab draws and specimen collection
• Facilitate patient flow between hospital units for Cardiac Catheterization and MRI patients

Post Anesthesia Care Unit

• Assessed and cared for a wide population of surgical patients after receiving general anesthesia including pain management (intravenous pain medication, PCA's and epidurals etc.)
• Performed airway management including extubation
• Facilitated patient care and flow through the operating room and PACU

A3N Short Stay Surgical Floor

• Assessed and cared for a wide population of surgical patients including complex orthopedic and urology patients to less complex ENT patients
• Assessed and monitored pain management via PCA's, epidurals, intravenous and oral pain medication
• Provided post surgical education to patients and families
• Organized home health care
• Served as Interim Patient Care Facilitator
• Patient Safety Officer working alongside Dr. Muething when Situational Awareness Protocols were being developed
