Grand Rapids

Summary

I've spent the last 18 years in the classroom, and I'm just as passionate today about finding new ways to make learning click. For 15 of those years, I have been the identified gifted teacher for my grade level, which has given me a deep expertise in high-level differentiation and meeting the needs of advanced learners. I love staying at the forefront of my field: whether I'm currently pursuing my LETRS training, attending educational summits, or having piloted CKLA Amplify for our district.

Beyond my own classroom, I'm heavily involved in the Collins Instructional Leadership Team and the district math team, where I host Learning Labs to model instructional strategies for my peers. One of my favorite roles is serving as a Mentor for student teachers from Michigan State University, Grand Valley State University, and other local universities. My goal is always to bridge high-level data and explicit teaching with what matters most: authentic relationships and the joy of learning.
