I am currently looking for a "work family" where I can bring my deep commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and my broad clinical and leadership experience. Over the course of a rewarding 15+ year career as a CNA and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, I have cared for patients across skilled nursing facilities, hospital acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and extensive home health settings. Those years taught me that excellent care is built not only on clinical skill but on the human connections we form—listening closely, honoring each person’s story, and adapting interventions so that care is meaningful and achievable for each individual.
I take pride in my ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Whether I’m educating a family on a safe home transfer, advocating for a patient’s pain-control needs with a PCP, or reporting nuanced clinical changes to nursing staff and supervising OTs, I focus on precise, timely documentation and respectful collaboration. My approach is to treat every patient as a whole person: assessing physical needs, understanding emotional and social barriers, and creatively problem-solving to remove obstacles to progress. I have learned to adjust my communication style to suit a wide range of personalities and cognitive levels—something that consistently improves adherence, safety, and outcomes.
Relocating from West Virginia to North Carolina in 2021 to better support my autistic daughter was a decision rooted in my values of family and advocacy, and it also reinforced my dedication to flexible, community-based care. Returning to home health felt like a natural fit—helping patients remain safely at home, preserving dignity, and teaching practical strategies that make everyday life easier. Most recently, I embraced a leadership role as both a COTA and Director of Rehabilitation (Program Manager) at an Independent/Assisted Living senior apartment complex. This position challenged me to expand my skill set: I coordinated interdisciplinary care plans, developed therapeutic programming tailored to residents’ cognitive and physical needs, mentored staff, and balanced clinical priorities with administrative responsibilities. Seeing residents regain confidence, increase independence, and participate more fully in community life has been among the most gratifying accomplishments of my career.
I am eager to bring that same energy, creativity, and dedication to your team. I thrive on meaningful challenges—designing individualized plans, leading collaborative problem-solving, and advocating for patient-centered solutions that improve quality of life. I believe my clinical breadth, proven communication skills, and leadership experience uniquely position me to contribute positively to patient outcomes and team growth.
Thank you for considering my application. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my background and passion for care align with your organization’s mission.
