  • Responsible for Erlanger's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program's accreditation and for Erlanger's Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program's accreditation with the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).
  • Develop and implement staff performance competencies to ensure compliance with Joint Commission and AACVPR.
  • Manage day to day gym responsibilities - proper staffing, end of pay period and monthly numbers, billing for silver fit and renew active members, patient treatment charge in Epic, patient attendance, equipment safety.
  • Evaluate cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients through patient interviews. Individualize, implement, and evaluate plan of care and perform skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age, diagnosis, medical history, and exercise history of the patient.
  • Exercise training and lifestyle modification for cardiac, pulmonary, diabetic, obese, hypertensive and hypotensive, and peripheral vascular disease patients.
  • Assess the patients' response to exercise, by checking blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, weight, ECG, blood glucose level and respond accordingly.
  • Disease management - risk factor implementation, implement effective education, increase physical activity and discourage sedentary lifestyle. Promote positive health behavior patterns. Recognize symptoms before an acute episode occurs.
  • Implement and evaluate a psychosocial assessment, quality of life assessment, and nutritional assessment.
