Work History

Medical Records File Clerk /Director

Physicians & Midwives of Macon
11.2008 - 12.2023
  • I began in the position as a Team leader and manager with two other employees working in my department as my assistants.
  • These individuals were part time workers who helped with the collecting and filing of charts for five other doctors in the office and three midwives.
  • These charts were collected every 30 min. or as needed from the multiple pick up stations located throughout the office and shredding large amounts of medical documents. When needed my assistants worked up front as checkout receptionists to fill in with the process to maintain a smooth office flow for the high volume of patients being seen.
  • As time expired approximately about a year later or so after my employment, the office dynamics shifted where both of my assistants were no longer available.
  • Since then, in addition to what my Assistants tasks were assigned, I have been successfully performing as the Medical Records Director with the following responsibilities…
  • Maintaining a Neat & Organized File Room
  • Folding & Mailing All Insurance Claims from Billing Dept.

  • Daily: Leave the Office to make the Bank Deposits.
  • 3 X’s per Week: Collect old & non-essential medical documents to be shredded throughout the office.
  • Call for Patient’s Insurance Benefits on all IUD/ implants via the receptionist, Midwife, or Nurse’s request.
  • Notify the Patient of their Insurance benefits and schedule their procedure appointment via the phone.
