Kristy Miller

My objective is to obtain a position in the field of education which allows me to apply my educational expertise and expand and develop the minds of our youth as well as prospective and current educators.

I am a professional educator skilled in creating dynamic, inclusive classroom experiences that drive student success. Adept at leveraging diverse instructional strategies to meet varied learning needs, ensuring comprehensive understanding of material. Known for collaborative approach and adaptability in ever-evolving educational settings, with focus on critical thinking and communication.

               I am a great communicator and have always had a close eye for details. I am a perfectionist by nature and will always stand behind my work. I work well with others and am a problem-solver. I can be compassionate and understand that students thrive in an environment where they are held accountable but still allowed to experience some trial and error. I took on several leadership roles as a teacher amongst the faculty and the students. I have been a senior class sponsor, a club sponsor, a department facilitator, and AVID coordinator, and a track coach.

               As a teacher, I mentored, motivated, and educated students in grades 9-12, primarily focusing on English writing and composition. I also taught a few courses in ACT prep and achieved the highest growth rate for passing ACT English scores in the last seven years. I have worked with students who came from diverse backgrounds that typically struggled in school. I led data focus groups and peer discussions on educational practices and collaborated within my department. For the last few years, I have also taught a class of AVID, helping to maintain and nurture the program at my current high school.
