  • As a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician, I am responsible for the daily treatments of patients suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease. I perform the set of the machines including priming, testing and troubleshooting. Complete clean and sterile procedures. I assess the patient initially before the charge nurse. I am skilled with cannulation and catheter care. I perform checks to the machine and the patient while they are getting treatment. I report findings and issues to the charge nurse. I make appointments for the patients to go to access care facilities. I have experience working with KECN and Crit Line monitoring systems. I am qualified in bleach disinfection of the water loop as well as make Granuflo. I have experience with working with my nurses in catheter reduction by patient education and setting up appointments for their mapping. While working in Dorchester, Covid Pandemic had started and Carney Hospital was made ground zero for the positive patients. We opened up the Chelsea unit to accommodate inflow of positive patients of which I cared for using the new guidelines as we received them at that point in time.
