Where I can build upon my knowledge and professional skills in the operating room, meet new team members and Doctors and learn new and different ways to achieve tasks. I am a very Driven Surgical Technologist offering just a little over 10 years' experience in ambulatory and hospital settings as well as trauma. Well-versed in almost all surgical specialties and procedures, some very well, others not so much but I'm always willing to try and I am ALWAYS Willing to LEARN. Proven leader and instrumental in developing new education for staff on new policies, procedures and equipment. Eager to take career to the next step with a growing organization offering opportunities for professional development and advancements.

  • Full Time Day shift, Lead Specialties Included General Oncology, Colorectal, and Transplants. I ended up with great rapport and several friends with surgeon's over the years.
  • On the Liver, Kidney and Pancreas Transplant team for all four years I was at Swedish, taking a minimum of one week of 24hour call a month.
  • Swedish offers many specialties, I have been able to keep up with the majority of them over the years.
  • Swedish was an amazing learning opportunity over the four years I was there, Three of them being a Lead tech.
  • However I consistently strive for growth and learning, as well as being able to teach and pass my knowledge on.

  • Proceeded to night shift in March to help our team out, so shift responsibilities varied between the two shifts
  • Main focus For Night Shift in a Trauma 3 going for a Trauma 2 is always patient safety and surgeries, preparing all operating rooms for their first cases, picking cases for the day includes all instruments, suture, saw blades and burrs, all equipment needed for case, and any additional specialty supplies
  • Stocking all operating rooms from main core supply, docking Dornoch (suction machine), and putting away instruments sent up from central processing after being sterilized
  • At Kootenai Medical Center I become a multi-specialty surgical technologist, with the ability to assist due to working nights cause its just you and the doctor, there is no one else there to help or assist.
