• Extensive knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations of clinical social work, and supervisory techniques, personnel policies, and procedures.
• Provide oversight of patient's care, progress in treatment, and progress toward discharge in order to prevent both the over-utilization and the under-utilization of inpatient/outpatient treatment services. This was accomplished through feedback to and from the patient, significant others, the treatment team, and Utilization Review and community resources.
• Apply for court ordered mental health services for patients unable or unwilling to consent to treatment deemed necessary to protect the life of the patient or others. Presents to the Probate Court, both in writing and in oral testimony, reports of the specific patient's behaviors prompting the request for involuntary admissions for services.
• Supervise residential adolescent substance use treatment facility (30 bed, male and female) ensuring safe, therapeutic environment from a client-centered, recovery oriented approach.
• Conduct didactic, psycho-educational, and/or process groups. Identify appropriate coping/intervention strategies, trauma resolution, addiction education and recovery, problem solving and decision making, and relapse prevention; effectively utilized combination of cognitive-behavioral, reality, and motivational enhancement therapies, CENAPS, and 12-Step program initiation.
• Continually improved quality and cost effectiveness of treatment policies and procedures in compliance with agency, county, and federal regulations, including State Health Services Standards of Care requirements.
• Populations served includes the homeless, veterans, males/females, young adults, and adolescent, populations, 80% of which had co-occurring disorders; closely monitored all medication use and conducted random drug screens, breathalyzer, and urine specimen testing.
