I aim to be a positive role model for those I surround myself with. Whether it's being part of a sports team, in the classroom, or babysitting for children I set an example and advocate good behavior. I've grown to be a great multi-tasker from previous life experiences and it has become a strengthening asset. I have established myself as a hard worker who applies themselves at the task given.
I babysit frequently for families who have young children. One of the families I watch has three kids all under the age of eleven. Often times I look after their friends as well. Keeping an eye on up to six kids at once has taught me how to multi-task and how to react to different situations accordingly. Furthermore, last summer I took upon the weekly job of babysitting my neighbor who has special needs. This taught me patience and accommodating to extensive needs.
My family and I decided to volunteer at St. Mary's food bank to lend a helping hand with food organization. I helped sort through variations of groceries to make sure there was an assortment of different food groups. Following that, recipients drove their cars to a pick up zone where we loaded groceries into their car. It was a great experience since it allowed me to interact and assist an organization giving to those in need.
While my neighbors were out of town on vacation, they hired me to watch their house and take care of their animals. They have two dogs and six cats. Five times a day, went to their house to make sure the animals were fed properly, went to the bathroom, and content. I kept them entertained and also cleaned up after any accidents or inconveniences. This experience taught me accountability and responsibility since I had to work around my daily schedule to ensure the pets were alright.
