Low Voltage for me has been an ideal career. The number of systems, the constant change in technologies, adapting to different challenges, and the fact that there is always something new to learn, or even overcome. I continually want to be moving my career forward. To challenge myself with bigger and more advanced systems. To lead, teach, and help others do the same.
Since starting in this field I've earned a NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems, an F-Card, and OSHA 30 certifications. I have a proven ability to learn new systems quickly and maximize efficiency in installation and maintenance. I've taken on countless leadership roles, while also simultaneously being able to work independently.
My ambition, work ethic, efficiency, desire to learn, and leadership skills are among my strongest traits. Along with a diverse knowledge of numerous systems to back them up.
My belief is it’s easier for someone to do their job when they have a true understanding of why and how something is done. So as a foreman, sharing knowledge was one of the most important aspects of my job. Adaptability and critical thinking have gotten me far in my career and intend to use those to progress even further.
My time at Robco Electric gave me a robust skillset and knowledge of countless systems in the commercial field. A confidence in my ability to get the job done by whatever means. Developing strong critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills. A varied array of experience in the commercial field to install, lead, manage, and coordinate projects from start to finish. Installing systems that range from Fire Alarm, CCTV, Intrusion, Telecommunications, Audio/Video, Fiber Optic, Access Control, and Clock/Intercom. With computer programming experience for Fire Alarm, CCTV and Access Control. I’ve also worked with CCSD building ground up schools, addition buildings, and existing school system upgrades.
I was given the responsibility to make sure projects were properly built, and remained on schedule. Overseeing numerous crews and projects simultaneously, coordinating manpower, material ordering, and scheduling. Attending sub meetings to coordinate with the general contractors and subcontractors on items that needed addressing. Teaching and giving my crews the knowledge and understanding of the systems being installed, while also making sure they have the material, tools, and ability to get the job done.
I was put in a constantly rotating role from Foreman, to Senior Tech, to Service Tech, to Installer. Being heavily relied upon to get my jobs done with little to no oversight, quickly, correctly and efficiently.
At Nevada Fire Protection I gained early skills to run projects, and install in residential construction. I earned my F-Card within just a month and a half of joining the company and asserted myself as a productive asset, moving up into a leadership role within a couple of months. I became exclusively responsible for the Access Control, Security, and CCTV systems on every one of our projects. Which consisted mostly of Residential work in Luxury Apartment Facilities, Clubhouses, and Assisted Living Senior Housing. I worked on many projects from the first day of rough, to the last day of end-user training. Coordinating with the general contractors, project management, and other trades involved with our systems. As well as establishing good client relations with facilities management post construction phase. Most notable accomplishments during my time at Nevada Fire Protection was in fire alarm. Earning my F-Card and eventually testing for NICET I and II, successfully achieving both.
