Coast Guard Achievement Medal

04AUG2023, I responded to individual whom was in distress, upon arriving on scene I saw an obvious Brachial arterial bleed. I then applied a TQ to patient with arterial bleed, just months later of being licensed. I was responsible for the medical care and hand off to paramedics.

Having established the EMT program, I had all the resources/full stock EMT kit to complete this event and potentially saved the patient from a catastrophic bleed. This program and school was done all on my own time to better improve the probability of survivability while having another resource to respond to these emergencies when just months before the unit was limited in its capabilities.
