Technical Accomplishments

Splashtop Remediation Project, In April of 2023, during a threat intelligence briefing, I was informed that ransomware groups were using the Remote Desktop application 'Splashtop'. Through the relationship that I had built with state agencies, I was aware of Slashtop being used in our enterprise environment. With the assistance of the Third Party risk analysts, I was able to determine which users had Splashtop installed on their endpoint and how it was being used. It was determined that Splashtop was not acceptable for use within our environment due to the multiple security concerns it presented. Along with the Third Party Risk analysts, a risk rating and presentation were put together. This helped make the appropriate parties aware of the concern and it is currently in the process of being phased out of the environment.
