Summary

My professional work centers a love for uncovering points of connection between persons and articles of interest and experience - be they the literary texts that I am used to handling in the classroom or items populating retail environments. During my time in academia I have worked to facilitate non-hierarchical connections between students and colleagues while navigating the diverse historic and contemporary literatures which we come together to experience and examine. Additional work experiences have offered the opportunity to cultivate the same values of authenticity, personability, and care comported in the context of stores and shops. I believe the attempt to reconceptualize our relational experiences along such values, be they structured by the classroom space, the artistic gathering, or the retail shop, is an essential movement in the development of that revolutionary consciousness which enables persons to navigate and offer resistance with a distinctive historical moment characterized by a profound experience of crisis, loss, and alienation. It is my deepest commitment, in all of my work, to cultivate skillsets and ways of communicating and holding space which may complement the creation of a comfortable and holding environment for others in which to explore their own growth and authentic emergence as radically centered individuals in solidarity with broader communities and contexts.
