Summary

I'm an educator who has 14 years of experience in a variety of different schools. Initially I started working at a year round behavioral school and worked with middle school aged students. My goal was to develop and implement IEPs for my students with the overall mission to safely have them return to public school. Afterwards, I entered the Sioux Falls School District and taught 5th Grade at Cleveland Elementary. This is a unique school with a large population of ELL students due to the city's immersion center. My understanding for classroom management, building rapport, and utilizing differentiated instruction greatly increased. Most recently, I have spent the past seven years at Vandenberg Elementary. All my prior experience gave me exponential patience, varied differentiated instruction, strategies for student engagement, and classroom management. In addition, my time at Vandenberg has made me take on new responsibilities like being on the MTSS Team, SDCNA Team, Building Leadership Team, and the Family Fun Night Committee. I look forward to continue strengthening my skills as an educator, collaborative team member, and civil servant driven by professionalism.
