Kyle Plumley

• As a leader in Theta Chi, I am responsible for organizing chapter meetings, ensuring that members stay informed and engaged. I plan and coordinate events that strengthen brotherhood and our presence on campus. I also work closely with the school and IFC to keep our chapter in good standing and compliant with all regulations.
  Beyond logistics, I help manage overall operations, facilitate communication between executive board members, and ensure our initiatives align with the fraternity's values and goals. My role is essential in maintaining structure, accountability, and a strong sense of brotherhood within the chapter.

During my 3.5-year tenure at Hensel's Ace Hardware, I oversaw operations at the Helpful Hub and handled financial responsibilities. This role involved a diverse skill set, including key services like copying, rekeying, and programming keys and fobs, often fulfilling substantial orders for major contracting firms. I also managed knife sharpening and dog tag engraving services.
On the customer service front, I provided valuable assistance on the sales floor, helping customers with their projects, and ensuring they left with all necessary items. Additionally, I ensured efficient cash management by balancing and counting tills daily. This multifaceted position equipped me with a broad range of skills and reinforced the importance of attention to detail, teamwork, and customer satisfaction in a retail setting.

During my accounting internship at Hensel's Ace Hardware, I played a pivotal role in the financial operations of the company. My responsibilities included managing inventory, calculating accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.

I gained valuable experience in maintaining and balancing spreadsheets for inventory orders, which involved meticulous attention to detail. Additionally, I honed my skills in tracking and managing large financial transactions, which were crucial for the organization's financial stability.
Dealing with invoices and creating receiving checklists were also integral parts of my role, allowing me to develop a keen eye for documentation, and a strong understanding of the importance of thorough record-keeping.

Moreover, I had the responsibility of navigating the challenges posed by economic instability during supply chain disruptions. This required adaptability, and the ability to make informed decisions to mitigate the impact on the company's finances.
Through this internship, I not only gained practical accounting skills, but also learned how to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing business environment. It was a valuable experience that enhanced my understanding of accounting principles and their real-world applications.
