I have worked for a number of years in the food and beverage industry, mainly in the back of house as a chef. Within the past couple of years, I have also spent some time as a custodian and also as an entrepreneur.
I have worked with some exceptional people over the years that have helped me become a well-rounded employee.
Additionally, I am easily self-motivated, take ownership of my tasks and develop systems to accomplish them quickly, efficiently and to the highest degree of quality possible.
I owned and operated North Shore Private Dining, a personal chef business for Minnesota. For my events, I was responsible for the following:
- Marketing my business
- Speaking with clients directly over the phone for consultations
- Creating menus for my client's exact needs and desires (3-6 courses each)
- Hiring servers and cooks for assistance with events
- Recipe creation
- Creating partnerships with related services in the area (i.e vacation rental home owners)
- Managing profits and losses
- Some accounting (although I outsourced it eventually)
- Being the planner, coordinator, and the last line of defense when it came to extremely important personal events such as 50th anniversaries, 60th birthday parties, or even weddings.
- General cleaning for classrooms, offices, hallways, public areas, restrooms, and entryways.
- During winter and summer breaks, engaged in deep cleaning projects such as carpet extraction, detail window cleaning, dusting, and some floor waxing.
- Helped in table/chair setups for large events on campus.
