With a strong foundation in analytical skills developed through rigorous coursework and lab experiments in biology, chemistry, and physics at the University of Texas at Austin, cultivated a collaborative and teamwork-oriented mindset. Experience at CSL Plasma provided valuable exposure to patient care, gaining proficiency in vital sign monitoring, blood testing, and troubleshooting donor management software. This role also taught effective management of stressful situations and efficient multitasking. Dedicated to leveraging academic knowledge and practical experience to pursue a fulfilling career in the healthcare and medical field.
I assisted both new and returning donors throughout the plasmapheresis process by taking vitals, performing arm checks, and testing blood for acceptable hematocrit and protein levels, while explaining donation requirements. I also answered donor inquiries over the phone, providing information or directing calls to the appropriate department. Additionally, I troubleshot any issues donors encountered with their donation app or the computers.
As a undergraduate student at UT Austin, I took part introductory labs in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Biology by ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper lab techniques. I assisted in preparing materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining an organized workspace. I collaborated with fellow students to perform experiments, record data, and troubleshoot any challenges that arose during experiments. This role allowed me to gain hands-on experience with scientific instruments and techniques, while enhancing my ability to communicate complex concepts and improve my writing and analytical skills when completing the lab reports.
