Since graduating college and starting my career as a pediatric nurse, I have gained so much knowledge about caring for children. As a pediatric nurse, I have grown confident in advocating for my patients and making sure not only their health needs are met, but also their psychological, developmental, and social needs. One thing I have grown to appreciate about pediatrics is the relationships that are built with patients and their families over time. Since starting as a pediatric nurse, I have gained experience in both acute and primary care which I believe has strengthened my skills as a nurse and has elevated my knowledge of pediatric health. I take pride in being a pediatric nurse and I plan to continue my nursing journey helping patients and their families.
