Seasoned nursing professional offering proven clinical knowledge, natural interpersonal strengths and technical abilities. Knowledgeable about EMR charting, medication administration and interdisciplinary collaboration focused on optimizing patient care and support. Quality-focused and efficiency-driven leader. Adept at vital signs monitoring and demonstrating compassionate care, I significantly improved patient outcomes at Legacy Health. My expertise in intravenous therapy and strong clinical judgment, coupled with effective teamwork and collaboration, ensured high-quality patient care. Skilled in multitasking and critical thinking, I excel in fast-paced environments, consistently delivering optimal results.
I am currently engaged in my senior nursing capstone, a culmination of my academic journey, within a Level II pediatric trauma Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This specialized unit caters specifically to infants and children who require intensive medical attention due to traumatic injuries or critical illnesses.
Working in this environment provides me with a unique opportunity to integrate and apply the theoretical knowledge and clinical skills I've acquired throughout my nursing education. The Level II designation indicates that our NICU is equipped to handle moderately complex cases, including trauma-related injuries in pediatric patients. This includes providing immediate and ongoing care to infants and children who have experienced trauma, ensuring their stabilization, monitoring their progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize their outcomes.
My capstone experience involves not only direct patient care but also active participation in critical decision-making processes, care planning, and family support initiatives. It allows me to deepen my understanding of trauma-informed care principles, pediatric pharmacology, advanced monitoring techniques, and the emotional dynamics involved in caring for critically ill children and their families.
