• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide and implement an appropriate plan of care and monitor 1 to 2 critically ill patients that require mechanical ventilation, CRRT, circulatory support devices, critical continuous drips, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Safely administer and titrate intravenous medications such as vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, paralytics, analgesia, and antihypertensives.
• Admit and recover patients directly from CVOR who have undergone heart transplant and lung transplant, LVAD implantation, CABG's, valve replacements and repairs, aortic aneurysm repairs, and aortic root reconstruction.
• Manage and monitor patients with cardiac assist devices including LVAD, Impellla, IABP, and ECMO.
• Implement care for critically ill patients with different acute and chronic disease processes such as cardiogenic shock, CHF, endocarditis, COVID-19, ARDS, acute respiratory failure, and drug overdose.
• Interpreting and adjusting care based on hemodynamic data from Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines.
• Manage care of patients requiring mechanical ventilation, obtain and interpret ABG results, and assist in evaluation of spontaneous breathing trials and extubation readiness criteria.
• Educate patients and family members on medications, plans of care, and discharge instructions.
• Assessing and monitoring emotional wellbeing of patients and family members in order to advocate for their mental health needs.
