With this company I served the role of accountant/controller, human resources,
and payroll. Mill Point Properties is the parent company to Whispering Pines
Campground, Newport RV Park and Open Road RV Repair. My day to day deals
with all the finances for all four entities including accounts payable/receivable,
financial reporting, property management, invoicing, data analysis, etc. Mill Point
Properties currently in over 50 doors and numerous counties in south central
Michigan. Financially responsible for the payroll of 20 people and growing.
Numerous licenses that are renewed yearly as well as working with the IRS and
multiple states. A very fast paced environment that requires paying attention to
details and communicating effectively. This makes the team aspect very important
because we have a small team with a lot of moving parts. Working with revenue
recognition, balance sheet classification and materiality all under GAAP
guidelines. Since I work within four other small businesses and customer service
representatives in each field my attention to detail must be spot on. This also
makes me mentally switch gears from one extreme of dealing with rental
properties to handling the mobile rv repair business. Prepare and process monthly
and quarterly annual sales, payroll, meal & beverage and hotel tax in multiple
states. Prepare and analyze monthly the profit and loss, balance sheet and
inventory reports. Perform monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Use
Microsoft Office and Quickbooks Online. Comply with local, state and federal
reporting requirements.
