Upbeat K-3 General Music Teacher devoted to promoting student learning and enhancing individual potential. Skillful in directing classroom environments and enhancing student behavior through positive and forward-thinking approaches. Actively engages students through the use of performance techniques acquired through 13 years of theater experience.

I have been an active participant in school and community theatre productions for the better part of 12 years. I have a passion for performance and enjoy bringing the skills I have acquired through theater into my classroom. These skills include improvising, public speaking, clear articulation, and engaging speech patterns with dynamic vocal inflections.

In the Spring semester of 2023, I completed my student teaching experience at Riverside Public Schools in Painesville, OH. I completed my senior capstone at this time and completed my EdTPA. Under the guidance and mentorship of my academic advisor and cooperating teacher, I implemented and adapted general music curriculum for 900 students at two elementary schools in grades K-5. I engaged students through an upbeat and fun teaching style that developed their skills in sight reading, movement exploration, instrumental performance,music history and appreciation, as well as other ODE state teaching standards.
