  • Organized and led a team of 12 summer student workers to manage the construction and installation of the school's furniture, resources and materials prior to the school's opening.
  • All work was completed with no electricity over July and August, in an extremely tight timeline.
  • As the appointed foreman of the team, I was responsible for building positive working relationships between colleagues, resolving conflicts and disputes, promoting a collaborative atmosphere conducive to productivity and encouraging them to continue working given the difficult working conditions;
  • Developed a strong work ethic through punctual attendance, consistent effort, and adherence to strict deadlines.
  • Fostered leadership qualities by taking charge of the schedule of works required to ensure timelines were met and fittings were assembled and installed properly.

  • Service learning program to provide support to a local school and wildlife protection centre in Guadalupe, Panama;
  • Helped to rebuild habitats and mechanisms for endemic wildlife in the rainforest along with renovating classrooms, repainting and cleaning common areas and providing children with different sustainable farming materials at a local primary school.
  • Environmental awareness program at the Los Quetzales Eco Lodge combined with Spanish language immersion
  • Teaching English to local children and acting as a bridge of communication between locals and English speaking teachers.

  • Responsible for managing a small team of summer youth workers (5 in total) to complete a schedule of summer improvement works to the preschool.
  • Works included painting, small repairs, furniture assembly and installation, fence works and construction of small playground furniture
  • This role allowed me to improve my organizational skills by managing my team, ensuring the jobs were completed in a clean and timely manner, and developed strategies to scale the works required to gain efficiencies.
