I made the decision to pursue a career in veterinary medicine because of my experiences in 4-H. Growing up, showing animals in 4-H meant that we went to the vet a lot. As I grew older, I began to see how costly veterinary procedures were.
My first goal is to make visits to the vet more affordable. I believe that if veterinary visits are more affordable, there will be a decrease in euthanizations due to untreated health issues.
My second goal is to open a no-kill animal shelter that focuses on nursing abused and abandoned animals back to health, and giving them a second chance at life.
I truly believe that my experiences through 4-H and FFA will help me succeed in the veterinary field.
