  • I currently work in a hospital based outpatient wound clinic
  • I currently work with 4 different providers
  • In my current role I room, intake, assess patients for wounds, ostomies, and infectious disease
  • I am responsible for my patients from beginning of care when they are roomed until all case management (IV antibiotic therapy, prior authorizations, referrals to home health, DME equipment orders, ordering and application of skin grafts, wound vacs, and casts), charting and billing is complete
  • I assist patients with preventative care such as compression therapy, blood sugar control, offloading to prevent pressure ulcers, signs and symptoms of infection and adequate nutrition
  • I peer interview and train new staff to the clinic, I help train new incoming residents to the clinic and serve as the charge nurse
  • I am also trained in Hyperbaric therapy in our clinic and run our 2 chambers 1-3 days a week
  • I am also the Hyperbaric safety director
  • I evaluate all incoming Hyperbaric referrals and consults for appropriate diagnosis, testing, insurance prior authorization, discuss any prohibited items or concerns with the medical director and provide all training and competencies for Hyperbarics, smoke hoods and fire drills to staff and providers
  • I meet monthly with the system administrators to discuss any concerns, policy changes or new ideas for the clinic.
