I also managed daily routines, such as meals and bedtime, building trust and positive relationships with both the children and their families.
As Vice President of the Student Council, I worked closely with the president and other members to plan school events, lead community service projects, and support new initiatives. As a teacher’s assistant, I supported classroom instruction by assisting students with their assignments, organizing learning materials, and managing small-group activities. Being part of the National Honor Society gave me the chance to focus on scholarship, leadership, service, and character. I joined community service projects, worked with classmates on school activities, and always aimed to meet high academic and ethical standards. These experiences helped me build leadership and organizational skills, and I was able to make a positive difference at school and in my community.
During high school, I volunteered at a local elementary school several days a week, helping students strengthen their reading, writing, and math skills. I also assisted the classroom teacher with daily activities, lesson preparation, and the creation of a supportive learning environment that fostered student growth and confidence.
I volunteered at a local religious school, teaching young children about theater through a Jewish lens. I introduced students to basic performance skills, teamwork, and creative expression while connecting these lessons to Jewish traditions and values. Together, we produced short Hanukkah skits for their families and friends to enjoy, fostering both cultural appreciation and confidence in the students’ abilities.
I worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor, where I kept swimmers safe and taught both kids and adults how to swim. I watched over the pool, made sure everyone followed the rules, and acted fast in emergencies. As an instructor, I created lessons for different abilities, helped students feel comfortable in the water, and made learning enjoyable.
Each year, a group of students from across the district is nominated to participate in Lead Colorado, a program focused on developing leadership skills. Through workshops, activities, and mentorship, we learn how to be effective leaders, improve communication, and collaborate with others to make a positive impact in our schools and communities.
I volunteered at a local children’s theater and worked with young performers as they built their acting, teamwork, and communication skills. I helped out during rehearsals, set up the stage, and prepared costumes, always trying to make the environment fun and supportive. This experience let me encourage each child’s creativity and confidence, and I enjoyed seeing their hard work come together in performances.
