• As the Estimator, my day to day was to develop and prepare cost estimates for projects of varying sizes and complexity
• These would be in response to RFP's or ITB (Invitation to Bid) or from me searching out customers and/or projects from different sources
• Responsibilities Included:
• Analyze and interpret all construction documents (architectural, civil, electrical, telecom, security, ) to accurately quantify all security scope items provided in each bid package
• Accurately quantify all material and labor requirements associated with the Confirm commodity material pricing and prepare and solicit quotations for major buy-out materials
• Accurately input all relevant take-off information into applicable computer
• Prepare recap / summary sheets for all Assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to customer
• Prepare proposal and scope of work letter and / or RFP response package information
• Work in conjunction with Customers, Engineers, Pre-Construction and Contract Managers to prepare an accurate bid Assist Technology Department Project Managers with estimating change orders on an as needed or assigned basis
• Process project quotations, tabulating and analyzing quotations as to price, terms, delivery, and general conformity with requirements of the inquiry and specifications
• Prepare estimate package for turn-over to Project Management for all projects awarded to include but not limited to; bid summary, estimate and takeoff information, material and equipment quotations, proposal and scope letter and other related information
• Participate in project kickoff meeting between estimating and project management
• Design and configure low voltage structured cabling systems (Data Networks, Access Control, Video

• Pre-sales support, system design, drafting bill of materials, requesting distributor quotes, organizing pricing of equipment, and applying standard labor components to bids that include Physical Security (IP
• Video Surveillance, Access Control) and Network Engineering (switch/route wireless)
• Being a technical resource for discovery and information gathering for physical security on client calls, possess the ability to work with MS Word and Excel, and be able to determine if additional information is needed to develop a solution that meets the customer requirements
• Working as a Systems Engineer with the Sales Dept to develop solutions that meet customer requirements and needs
• The ability read & create technical drawings, to read and understand RFPs, and technical requirements for IT focused projects
• Attend site-walks and pre-bid meetings on project activity
• Track all site visits and keep detailed information of site conditions for use in the design of the engineering solutions
• Act as liaison between and meet with sales, project management and operations when project is turned over for installation
