•Respond to emergency fire, rescue, medical aid, and public service calls; operate a variety of firefighting equipment and fire apparatus, and perform essential fire suppression and rescue functions.

• Responds to hazardous materials incidents and performs functions related to level of certification underdirect supervision of the HAZ-MAT Incident Commander. May serve as HAZ-MAT Incident Commanderif certified as technician with Incident Commander training

• Perform duties associated with providing emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance withall applicable laws, regulations and department EMS policies.

• Performs general station and other equipment maintenance; sweeps and mops floors, washes dishes andwindows, cleans furniture and facilities, hangs and dries hoses, and makes minor equipment repairs.

• Administers necessary medications and medical procedures as outlined in departmental SOP's and protocols;solicit, receive and follow medical control orders outlined in SOP's and protocols to the level of appropriate training.

• Provides safe working environment for fellow assistants and for the patient, to include appropriate infection control policies.

•Performs EMT-P Duties and patient care in accordance with SOP's
