My objective with this resume is to gain employment as a means of supporting myself through college and to have an opportunity to better myself by learning a new trade. This will not only assist me by providing a new skill, but also by allowing me to continue my college education without the worry of massive debt.
Throughout the jobs listed above, I improved my skills in a multitude of ways. Each job had an aspect of responsibility. As a lifeguard, my job was keeping people safe in a potentially dangerous environment. As a waiter, the reputation of my workplace and the satisfaction of the customer were on the line. As an owner, I had people depending on me for financial independence and customers who needed my lower rates to be able to afford moving to a new location. As a Chief Experience Officer, many parents are entrusting me with their children and having faith that I will keep them safe on a cross-country trip to the District of Columbia. Finally, as a cashier, many people depend on me to accurately pass on their orders to the kitchen so that they can enjoy their meal. All of these experiences have shaped the worker I am today. I left each of these jobs on good terms and have provided the phone numbers of each of my previous bosses in my references section.
Throughout high school, I held many leadership roles, including:
In college, I was elected pledge class president in the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity.
I have always had a knack for communicating with others. I am very charismatic and have been told I am easy to talk to and an intriguing person to listen to. Along with this, each of my previous workplace experiences required me to communicate with others in some way. As a waiter, a large majority of my income depended on my ability to communicate with the guests. As a lifeguard, my ability to properly communicate could be the difference between life and death. As a small business owner, communication was the most significant factor in gaining and, more importantly, maintaining customers. As a Chief Entertainment Officer, communication was by far the largest part of my job, as I was constantly communicating with people all over DC to discuss schedule changes and dealing with large groups of children and parents throughout the day. Finally, as a cashier, maintaining a friendly demeanor and positive tone goes a long way when dealing with massive influxes of customers during rush hours.
