Cover Letter

Dear hiring manager,

I'm very interested in applying for a summer internship position at your company. Currently, I'm a junior at Harding University studying construction science and as well as interior design through interdisciplinary studies. My goal is to become a civil engineer and later architect, in which I can display my skills and achievements in residential, commercial, and environmental projects. My dedication to acquiring design skills that can create unique buildings or environmental features is something of interest to my future career. Throughout my years of studies, I've learned applications of design and already achieved software applications that include Microstation, Revit, and Sketch-Up. More importantly, I have experienced the fundamentals of construction and applied objective thinking of timelines and collaborative effort taken to complete a project. Surveying and geotechnical studies were also achieved in my studies, which addressed the basic details of site analysis and mathematical reasoning. Using what I have learned, the goal is for the internship to improve on the questions that may hinder my understanding of my exact fit for the job field. I appreciate your requests, and looking forward to an opportunity that will allow me to help your company at the highest standards.

Sincerely,

Lane McWilliams
